Message	gear driven with the engine and at a given engine rpm the pump has a specific rpm. Any restriction in the supply line would reduce the flow rate in the system and increase the line pressure. Any line pressure that exceeds the relief valves pressure would be blown off and excess oil is returned to the oil pan. So removing any restrictions would lower oil pressure regardless of where the restriction is. ZUL8TR in Orlando,FL
